French apparel group Vivarte is restructuring its senior management team. After appointing Xavier Guéry as HR Director last April, the group has now picked a new General Secretary, Alain Postic. Both positions were formerly held by Jean-Jacques Doeblin, who retired last month.

Alain Postic, 51, started in his new role on 22nd May. He is a finance specialist, an expert in “the operational issues and challenges typical of evolving organisations,” wrote Vivarte, a group which has been busy restructuring for the last two years. Postic has also joined the group’s executive committee.

A graduate of the EDHEC business school, Postic has a higher education diploma in accounting and finance, and started his career in 1989 at consulting firm Arthur Andersen, before joining pharmaceutical group Fournier in 2001 and subsequently resort operator Club Med. From 2011 to 2015 he was the CFO of travel operator Thomas Cook, also involved in a restructuring plan, and then joined French catering group Flo until 2017.

Vivarte recently sold the Naf Naf brand to a Chinese corporation, but the group led by Patrick Puy is still active on the divestment front. Its retail brands Chevignon and especially Besson Chaussures, which could be worth a tidy sum to Vivarte, are expected to change hands in June and July.
