Sephora to expand footprint in North America in 2019
In 2019, Sephora will enhance its retail presence in the U.S. with 35 stores set to open this year. The first opening will take place on March 14, as a boutique location in New York's Hudson Yards.
First entering the U.S. in 1998 with the opening of store in SoHo in New York, the LVMH-owned fragrance and cosmetics retailer today boasts 460 stores in the nation, in addition to its 660 shop-in-shops, located inside J.C. Penney department stores.
As reported by Market Watch, the vast retail rollout will take place across 32 U.S. cities including Palm Springs, San Francisco and Los Angeles in California, as well as Dallas and Houston in Texas.
While Sephora does not release its financial results, the U.S. is said to be the French retailer's number one market.
Today, Sephora boasts some 2,300 stores in approximately 30 nations across the globe.
