The collection, entitled 'Happiness', made its debut at the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue, and was projected live on the Bergdorf Goodman façade in celebration of an exclusive partnership between the two New York brands.

The show started with an opening of monochrome looks that put the Marc Jacobs logo front and centre, followed by pieces that embraced every colour of the rainbow, bold prints, and extra-large paillettes. The brand's desire to impress Gen Z was felt with silhouettes that offered cocooning shapes, puffed-up volumes, and slouchy finishes.

Tailored skirts were styled with puffer jackets, and oversized sweaters were revealed alongside maxi dresses and wide trousers, while every outfit was styled with a pair of sky-high platform Mary Janes.

"On the journey back to doing what we love most, in the wake of immeasurable loss, loneliness, fear, anxiety and uncertainty, I am reminded of why creativity is so vital to our existence," wrote Jacobs, in a statement released before the show on Monday.

Jacobs hasn’t hit the runway since his show-stopping fall 2020 presentation, which was in February 2020 — just before Covid-19 put the world at a halt.
