UK womenswear brand ME+EM has opened a Harrods concession in the fourth floor Fashion Lab area.

The space measures almost 400 sq ft and includes both ready-to-wear and accessories, with new drops being added monthly.

It’s something of a homecoming for the label’s founder Clare Hornby, who began her career on the graduate scheme at the luxury department store nearly three decades ago.

She said the store served as a “huge inspiration for providing women with that unparalleled luxury experience, so it feels particularly significant to be returning there now”.

High-end stores have embraced the retail reopening this spring with a number of initiatives, and new brands have been high on the agenda. Last week, for instance, Fenwick announced a limited edition capsule collection with Samantha Cameron’s Cefinn label.

And Harrods has also been adding new labels to its line-up to offer extra interest alongside its portfolio of global designer names.

Its fashion director Lydia King said ME+EM adds something “exciting” for women seeking “timeless pieces that belong in their forever wardrobes”.

The label also has concessions in Selfridges’ London and Manchester branches, as well as operating six London boutiques.
