After announcing his location and time for his show on Tuesday, Kanye West received a stern scolding from the CFDA. West has now moved his show to accommodate the CFDA’s scheduling.

West chose to ignore the CFDA’s scheduling procedures, unknowingly scheduling his show at the same time as Marchesa. After West's initial show announcement on Tuesday, Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA told the press that West’s behavior was ‘inexcusible’, and told West to reach out so they could find an appropriate time slot.

West did just that. Kolb released the following statement Friday morning, “Kanye called me personally to let me know that he had no intention of showing on top of another designer, and was unaware that there was a conflict. He explained that once he realized Marchesa was in the time slot, he immediately looked at alternative options. The CFDA appreciates Kanye’s outreach and effort, and we look forward to working with him far in advance to integrate Yeezy into the schedule in seasons to come.”

West’s Yeezy Season 5 show has now been moved two hours earlier at the recommendation of the CFDA.

This is the fourth season in a row that West has ignored the CFDA’s scheduling, causing conflicts with the carefully-thought-out fashion week schedule. Last season's show took the fashion press away from the Parsons MFA, while season 3 overlapped with Adam Selman and Marissa Webb.
