Gucci reportedly to sign footballer Jack Grealish as ambassador

Premiership footballers are heading up the fashion league. No longer just linked to mass- or mid-market fashion brands, big-name England stars are now being courted by international high-end names.

Jack Grealish

Luxury Italian fashion giant Gucci is reportedly signing Manchester City and England footballer Jack Grealish to an “unprecedented” seven-figure sponsorship deal. It would make Grealish Gucci’s first official brand ambassador from the world of football. However, there’s been no confirmation or even comment such the report first appeared on athletic.com.

If true, he’d be following in the footsteps of Manchester United rival star Marcus Rashford  who was signed by London luxury fashion house Burberry and has appeared in several campaigns.

According to the athletic, 26-year old Grealish is “on the verge” of joining Gucci’s list of A-list celebrity endorsers, which includes Harry Styles and Jared Leto.

Grealish is known for his fondness for designer labels such as Gucci off the field.

Any deal with Gucci would dramatically raise his international profile, although just how it might impact the six-figure deal he has with fast fashion retailer Boohoo via BoohooMan x Jack Grealish collection is unclear.
