Luxury fashion house Dior opened on 25 October the doors of its first standalone stores in Mexico at the Artz Pedregal shopping centre in Mexico City, unveiling two separate spaces for its men’s and women's offering.

The first Dior Men store in Mexico and Latin America showcases the creations of British designer Kim Jones for the Autumn Winter 2019-2020 across three core categories: ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear.

Using grey concrete walls, back marble coffee tables and bright yellow accents, the VIP room is also clad in toile de Jouy to pay tribute to the décor of Christian Dior’s first boutique.

In the store dedicated to Dior’s Haute Couture universe, the French brand presents its ready-to-wear collections alongside bags, shoes and accessories, each in their own dedicated area. The interior design takes cues from Parisian apartments, fusing traditional elements with a contemporary edge in the form of furniture designed by the likes of Dimore and Agape.

Here there is another reference to the brand’s heritage, with the label revisiting the iconic cannage motif, which dressed the Napoleon III-style chairs that Dior used to seat guests at his shows.

Dior has had a presence in Mexico since 1950, when it signed an exclusive agreement with department store chain El Palacio del Hierro for the distribution of the women’s collection. Currently, there are Dior shop-in-shops in ElPalacio de Hierro Santa Fe and Polanco, both in Mexico City, as well as beauty and perfume counters within Sephora and Liverpool.
