On September 12, Canada Goose opened its first monobrand store in Italy, the second in Europe alongside the London store, and the 15th worldwide across three continents. In parallel with the Milanese opening, Canada Goose also launched its Italian e-shop.

The Canadian apparel brand, renowned for its luxury down-jackets and anoraks, set up shop at 10 Via della Spiga, in the heart of Milan’s central luxury shopping district. The 400 m2 store, on two levels, showcases all of Canada Goose’s seasonal collections and exclusive collaborations.

The store’s interiors combine design elements of both Canadian and Italian provenance, and pay tribute to key figures of Milanese design and architecture of the 1950s such as Gio Ponti. The store also features artworks by Qavavau Manumie, Alex Fischer and Meghan Price, inspired by the heritage of the northern regions of Canada.

Prior to the official opening, Canada Goose partnered with Italian artist Alice Pasquini to create a series of artworks displayed outside the store, inspired by the label’s ‘Live in the Open’ fall/winter campaign, also showcased in the shop-windows of the other Canada Goose stores worldwide.

Like all the other Canada Goose branches, the Via della Spiga store has a ‘cold room’ where climate-control technology enables shoppers to try outdoor apparel at temperatures as low as -25 degrees Celsius, the kind of Arctic conditions for which the label's parkas, selling at about €1,000 each, have been designed.

Canada Goose is led by President and CEO Dani Reiss, and in April it completed the construction of a new production site extending over 10,700 m2 in Quebec, its eighth production facility in Canada. In recent years, the brand has added raincoats, knitwear and wind-breakers to its product range, to meet growing demand for clothes suited to a variety of seasonal conditions.

Founded in a small warehouse in Toronto in 1957, Canada Goose has grown into one of the world’s leading producers of performance luxury apparel, with its distinctive red/white crest bearing the effigy of the North Pole region. Canada Goose is currently controlled by US investment fund Bain Capital.
