500,000-euro ring stolen from Rome jewellery store

ROME, Oct 19, 2010 AFP © - Two men stole a 500,000-euro ring from a store of French luxury jeweller Cartier in Rome Tuesday, ANSA news agency reported quoting police.

The pair, in their forties and speaking with a foreign accent, fled the store on Rome's exclusive Via Condotti after they were shown the diamond-studded ring.
Police said the men were well dressed with jacket and tie, and apparently unarmed, managing to get by the store's security. Surveillance cameras caught the two on video.
