Reebok veteran joins Sainsbury's board

Sainsbury's has appointed retail veteran Jo Harlow to its board of directors with immediate effect. Harlow will join the remuneration committee and the nomination committee as a non-executive director.

A US national, Harlow has over 25 years of experience working in consumer-facing businesses, having spent eight years at P&G and eleven years at Reebok in senior sales, marketing and management roles.

She has also held a variety of senior management roles in the telecoms and technology sector, including roles at Nokia and Microsoft. Additionally, she sits on the board of InterContinental Hotels, Ceconomy, and technology company Halma.

"We are delighted to welcome Jo Harlow as a non-executive director. She brings to the board a wealth of experience in consumer-facing businesses and in the telecoms and technology industry, both in the UK and internationally.  We are confident that she will make a valuable contribution to Sainsbury's," said David Tyler, chairman of Sainsbury's.

In addition to her appointment, the British company announced that non-executive director Matt Brittin, is joining the remuneration committee, while non-executive director Jean Tomlin is becoming a member of the audit committee.
