BANGKOK, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Thailand's PTT Aromatics and Refining PTTAR.BK (PTTAR) said on Wednesday 20 January it had rescheduled a major shutdown for maintenance of its 1.19 million tonnes aromatics plant to June from March.

"Earlier we had planned the shutdown for March. Now we think it's OK to extend the schedule to June," Senior Executive Vice President Bowon Vongsinudom told Reuters.

The major shutdown normally lasts around one month, Bowon said, adding PTTAR might consider the exact timeframe again.

PTTAR has refining capacity of 280,000 barrels per day (bpd) and has annual capacity to produce 2.26 million tonnes of aromatics products, including paraxylene and benzene, which are used in packaging and textile industries.
