Keith Kratzberg, president, and CEO of Epson America, Inc, told the press, "In the high-fashion business, nothing stands still. The designer's vision is constantly advancing, ultimately creating and driving fashion trends that change how we look and feel. Our goal with the Digital Couture event is to spotlight the power and potential that digital printing technology plays in the apparel industry.  From haute couture to sports team apparel, Epson technology gives designers and apparel manufacturers the digital platform necessary to launch the next great design”

The Epson Digital Couture Project will also host a keynote speech by Epson’s global president and a panel discussion from industry experts discussing the current state of the fashion and technology market.

The rest of the project will focus on the creations by these thirteen design teams, produced using Epson’s dye-sublimation and direct-to-fabric printing technologies. All these technologies will be adapted to each design team’s specific style.

Some of the innovations that will be highlighted by Epson at the event are the dye-sublimation printer, the F2000 series direct-to-garment ink jet printers (that allows designers to print directly on garments), and the new acquisition of Robustelli, an Italian textile printer that specializes in printing gradations and color reproductions.

The Digital Couture Project will take place the week prior to February's New York Fashion Week.
