Hanssen Brands did not reveal how much it paid for Bruuns Bazaar and BZR, but said the acquisition gives the two brands an opportunity to not just survive, but also grow stronger.

Hanssen Brands CEO Søren Hanssen says the aim now is to create a solid foundation for Bruuns Bazaar to further develop the brand. "Our ambition is to find the right partner to drive Bruuns Bazaar and BZR forward, with respect for what its customers have come to expect from it in terms of quality and the spirit created by (founders) Bjørn og Theis Bruun," he said.

The CEO said the acquisition of Bruuns Bazaar fits well with Hanssen Brands' long-term growth strategy, and that the group's aim is to create a portfolio of international brands. Hanssen Brands is also a major shareholder of the IC Group, which has the Tiger of Sweden, Peak Performance and Malene Birger brands.
